Very rude!! - My Husband and I came in yesterday at 12pm and just wanted a quick drink or two.
A woman who came past when we were stood at the Bar... read more was so rude, we asked if we could just grab a drink and we would be gone in 20-30 mins and she just said no the tables are all booked, the tables were all empty!!
I am sure that they were not all booked at 12 and some would have been free for a few minutes to grab a drink.
We went on to the Bishop on the bridge where the staff were so much more welcoming and really friendly and in the full Christmas spirit!
A little tip to those pubs who we want to support and you would think would be grateful for any income please remember how to treat customers with respect and be friendly at all times, it makes a huge difference!!.

We were given a table that had been hemmed in by an adjacent table where the occupants had spralled out however there was no issue in moving us to another table.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.
This is a dog friendly pub and used by locals.

Both Tom and Shanice were very friendly and helpful, making you feel very welcomed. They went above and beyond all aspects of their service. They were 2 of the most amazing bar persons I've ever met. It was a true pleasure to be in their pub.
It my have been our first time to The Crown and Anchor but it certainly won't be the last.
The food was delicious and plentiful. You couldn't get anymore tuna mayo into my sandwich, it was bursting and with a side order of proper chips, thick, crispy and full of fluffy potato.
Nothing was too much trouble, and you could see they enjoyed their jobs, making sure you had everything you needed, without it being too much. The locals ate friendly and very chat which gives the pub a cosy friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Thank you Tom and Shanice for making our time at your pub a pleasure.

Vegan burger was great, not dry like some are! Apparently the chicken pie was fantastic, the best my mum had ever had apparently.

It was great value as we had 2 for 1 but even without the offer it would have been great value for money.

Totally recommended. Will definitely be back.

As soon... read more as we went in it felt like a relaxed place to have a drink and something to eat. The service was quick both for drink and food. The food was excellent and portions a generous size and even though busy the young lady serving took time to chat.
So good we went back on the Tuesday night for the pub quiz!
